Great Shows
These are some of my favourite audio/video shows or networks, they’re perfect because they’re all refreshing and free.
DL.TV or DigitalLife.tv is a twice weekly tech news show hosted by Patrick Norton and Robert Heron. The show runs live or can be downloaded in various different codec formats. I’d personally recommend the H.264 640×480 file which is typically a 180MB download.
TWiT.TV airs a dozen or more shows. The bulk of the shows are technology related except a few of the video industry related gems, in particular the video effects shows from the pixelcorps group. The cornerstone of the network is the weekly aptly named TWiT (This Week In Tech) audio podcast. The show is hosted by Leo Laporte with a revolving list of 10-15 guests including the Internet’s own John C Dvorak.
Crankygeeks is a weekly video podcast where four ‘Cranky Journalists’ debate the weekly news, airing humour, sarcasm and a sprinkle of skeptasism.
CNN, ABC and the BBC give you daily and weekly video summaries for local and international news.
Democracy offers over 600 channels of daily, weekly, monthly content covering 25 different categories including Animation, comedy, music, sports, travel and more.
